On November 6, an informative session titled “The Mandate and Functioning of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC)” was held in Gračanica. This session brought together interested citizens, legal experts, civil society representatives, and media with the aim of providing a detailed overview of the KSC’s mandate, structure, and the procedures that guide its operations.

The Kosovo Specialist Chambers play a key role in prosecuting crimes against humanity, war crimes, and other criminal acts committed in Kosovo between January 1, 1998, and December 31, 2000. During this session, the fundamental principles of the KSC’s work were presented, including the roles and mandates of the Public Information and Ombudsperson’s Offices, as well as the significance of the judgments within the context of international law and justice for victims.

The session was opened by Miodrag Milićević, Executive Director of NGO Aktiv, who highlighted the importance of transparency and legal accountability in the KSC’s work in his introductory remarks. Following this, Ana Profozić from the Public Information Office and Paul Landers from the Ombudsperson’s Office addressed the attendees, explaining in detail the structure and functioning of the Specialist Chambers.

This informative session provided participants with insights into the KSC’s role in ensuring justice, as well as the rights and obligations stemming from its mission.
