NGO AKTIV is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual for the position of Project Assistant, who will be responsible for aiding in the implementation of project activities. Due to the need for a wider geographical outreach in terms of activities, there is flexibility in terms of the Project Assistant’s  duty station.

NGO AKTIV is seeking suitable candidates for position of Administrative and Financial Assistant (AFA). The successful candidate will be in charge for Administrative and financial duties connected to the project activities and implementation timeline. The AFA will coordinate with the Project Managers in order to ensure that administrative procedures are followed in accordance with AKTIV regulations.

A key feature of any democratic society that is rooted in respect for universal human rights principles and the rule of law is the responsibility, ability and readiness of the majority to accept non-majority communities. In Kosovo, this is something that is reflected in the numerous mechanisms embedded in the legislative framework designed to protect them. However, despite the significant passage of time and financial investment of the international community, the stabilization of the socio-political situation and the advancement of Serb-Albanians relations do not appear to ever have been a priority of political elites in Kosovo.

Given the overall situation in Kosovo, news produced locally by Serbian media is often of regional importance, which represents a special responsibility of media outlets from isolated areas, because events in them, unfortunately, most often negatively, reflect much further and affect not only relations between Pristina and Belgrade, but also the situation in the region. One of the characteristic examples is Radio Gorazdevac, which produces regionally relevant news in an environment with several hundred potential listeners. The main task of these outlets, in the context of the local nature of the Serbian media, is to be predominantly news producers, but not exclusively of local content.

In Civic Energy Center (CEC) in North Mitrovica, NGO AKTIV presented today, July, 29^th the research presentation “Enhancing Transparency and Rule of Law in Kosovo-Serb majority Communities”.  This research is done within the framework of a project implemented by NGO Aktiv with the financial support of the Buraeu of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs - INL).
