Informative session on the work of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers held in Štrpce

In April, NGO Aktiv organized an informative session in Štrpce dedicated to the work of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers. The aim of the event was to help citizens better understand the ongoing legal processes and the role of institutions in protecting the rights of victims and witnesses.

The event was opened by Miodrag Milićević, Executive Director of NGO Aktiv, who emphasized the importance of access to information on transitional justice for all communities in Kosovo, especially in the context of building trust and strengthening the rule of law.

Representatives of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, Ana Profozić from the Public Information and Communication Service and Paul Landers, Legal Advisor at the Ombudsperson’s Office of the KSC, addressed the following topics:

  • current public proceedings before the Specialist Chambers,
  • the rights and protection of witnesses,
  • the participation of victims in court procedures,
  • and the role of the Ombudsperson in ensuring fair proceedings and institutional support.

Through open dialogue with participants, KSC representatives explained key procedures and answered numerous questions regarding the challenges and transparency of the court’s work.

Such events contribute to greater public understanding of legal processes and bring justice closer to citizens, which is one of the core goals of NGO Aktiv in the field of transitional justice.
