“THE STATE OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN NORTHERN KOSOVO”

June 27, 2024

11:00

Civic Energy Center (CEC), North Mitrovica

NGO Aktiv presents the report “The State of Human Rights in Northern Kosovo”, which documents potential violations of the rights of local communities in four northern municipalities of Kosovo, as well as the spread of hate speech in the media and public space from October 2023 to May 2024.

The report results from monitoring conducted by NGO Aktiv, including weekly field visits to four northern municipalities and discussions with local stakeholders to identify potential human rights violations.

The report documents incidents, tensions, dangerous rhetoric, and hate speech. It lists events, details the authorities’ responses, and provides all key information collected during the monitoring period. We will discuss the report’s findings and exchange opinions on further steps to protect the rights of local communities.
