EVENT DETAILS

We invite you to the conference, which will be held on March 9, from 11 a.m., in Prostor Miljenko Dereta, Dobračina 55, Belgrade, where we publish research on the position of the Serbian community in four municipalities in the north of Kosovo and the Albanian community in the south of Serbia.

The research deals with the views of citizens on the problems faced by Albanians living in the Preshevo Valley in the south of Serbia and Serbs in the municipalities of Severna Mitrovica, Zvečan, Leposavić and Zubin Potok in the north of Kosovo.

Through the views of the citizens, we learn what the challenges of the two communities are, as well as recommendations for further actions, aimed at local and central authorities, international community, as well as the media and civil society. The following areas are covered:

  • Integration, participation and communication of citizens with local and central authorities
  • Freedom of movement between Kosovo and Serbia (ID and vehicle registration plates)
  • Use of language
  • A perspective for young people.

The research was conducted as part of a project implemented by the Center for Democracy and Education – Lugina in Bujanovac and the NGO AKTIV in North Mitrovica.
