EVENT DETAILS

Dear Sir or Madam,

NGO AKTIV is pleased to invite you to a panel discussion where the research “Strengthening institutional responses to security incidents in non-majority (Serb) communities” will be presented on Tuesday, 27th of June 27, at 11:00, in Hotel Sirius, in Pristina.

Numerous incidents that occurred in areas with a majority Serbian population in Kosovo, according to reports by Serbian civil society organizations and the media, especially during the pandemic period (2020/2021), affected inter-ethnic relations, trust in institutions and the dialogue process between Pristina and Belgrade. On this occasion, the NGO Aktiv and KIPRED, with the support of UNMIK, conducted research that deals with the review of the institutional response to reported incidents.

The research deals with the analysis of incidents reported to the NGO Aktiv through the Rapid Response Civic Group (through RRCG) and public data collected by KIPRED. This report also brings political recommendations to Kosovo institutions in the area of rule of law, international actors, media and civil society in order to improve institutional performance and increase public awareness of these incidents.
