Organized by NGO Aktiv, an informative session dedicated to the work of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) was held on June 17 in Zvečan/Zveçan. The event aimed to provide citizens and civil society representatives with a better understanding of the KSC’s mandate, ongoing judicial processes, as well as the rights of victims and the protection of witnesses.
The session was opened by Teodora Živanović from NGO Aktiv, who emphasized the importance of open dialogue and access to information on transitional justice for all communities in Kosovo.
Representatives of the KSC, Ana Profozić from the Public Communication and Information Office and Michael Doyle, KSC Spokesperson, spoke about the structure and mandate of the Specialist Chambers, victim participation, and the role of the public in the proceedings.
Paul Landers, Legal Advisor at the Ombudsperson’s Office (KSC), presented the mechanisms for protecting the rights of parties in the proceedings, as well as institutional guarantees for fair trial and witness protection.
Through an interactive Q&A session, participants had the opportunity to directly engage with KSC representatives and clarify questions related to the procedures and working standards of the institution.
