SAFEGUARDING LANGUAGE DIVERSITY

NGO Aktiv, in cooperation with the Council of Europe Office in Pristina, cordially invites you to the presentation of two reports on language rights, organized within the framework of the project “Fostering societal cohesion by reinforcing minority rights and minority languages”, implemented by the Council of Europe Office in Pristina.

The reports to be presented are:

-Report by NGO Aktiv and Radio KIM, “Lost in Translation: One Country, Two Languages, Unequal Rights”

-Report by the Council of Europe Office in Pristina, “Challenges in implementing the Law on the Use Languages”, focusing on municipal level

In addition to representatives of NGO Aktiv, Radio KIM, and the Council of Europe, the event will bring together relevant stakeholders from institutions, civil society, media, and the international community.

The participants include government representatives, the Office of the Language Commissioner, the Consultative Council for Communities, the Ombudsperson Institution, the civil society platform Empirika, media outlets, as well as other local and international organizations and institutions.

The objective of the event is to foster an inclusive and expert discussion on key challenges and recommendations in the field of language rights. This gathering aims to contribute to public dialogue, identify existing problems, and propose concrete solutions for advancing language rights.
