Position: Coordinator for local and regional business cooperation

Salary: local competitive

Starting date: 01.04.2017  

Duty station: North Mitrovica

Contract duration: 12 months with possibility for extension NGO AKTIV has pleasure to announce the opening of the position Coordinator for local and regional business cooperation.  The Coordinator will work within the framework of NGO AKTIV’s business policies development programs.   The Coordinator will assume primary responsibility for implementing the activities related to economic support programs and programs related to private sector development. The Coordinator will work in close cooperation with AKTIV’s Program Office.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the northern Kosovo business in expansion of business contacts and cooperation with counterparts in Kosovo and the region
  • Manages and builds relations with relevant stakeholders on community level, relevant public institutions, other civil-society organizations as well as donor agencies Organize the various business development forums and dialogue events assuring participation of relevant local business
  • Oversees the timely and effective implementation of activities in line with AKTIV and donor principles and requirements
  • Ensure maintaining of a high-public profile of AKTIV’s projects and that the general public is informed of relevant project activities
  • Maintain a presence on both social and conventional media outlets (i.e. T.V and radio) as well as on the AKTIV website
  • Coordinate the planning and program execution activities
  • Work with management and financial teams to support project execution
  • Manage project resource allocation
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

Desired Qualifications:

  • A four year (Bachelor’s) degree in one of the following fields: Economics, Economic Development, Finance, Business and Management or Marketing and Sales
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience of work on projects related to economic development and/or the private sector
  • Both written and spoken fluency in the English and Serbian languages, limited knowledge of Albanian would be seen as an advantage
  • Knowledge of the social, economic and political dynamics in north Kosovo
  • Familiarity and experience with the civil-society, public and private sectors in north Kosovo would be seen as a strong advantage
