The institutional mechanisms existent in Kosovo for the protection of the non-majority communities’ rights with a special focus on the Serbian community

The following policy paper will seek to describe the provisions within Kosovo’s legal, legislative and constitutional framework that protect and guarantee the rights of members of its non-majority communities with a particular focus of the Serb community.  Furthermore, the paper includes discussions of practical challenges and problems in the implementation of legal and institutional mechanisms designed to protect minority rights, particularly when compared to other countries in the region.  All of this is with the goal to serve Kosovo Serbian CSOs and community representative to enhance their work in monitoring the implementation of legislation relevant to the rights of members of non-majority communities.
