Public Policy School

NGO Aktiv and Pontis Foundation organised a 3-day Public Policy School in North Mitrovica. The school is primarily organised for the grantees that were awarded small research projects through our joint program Active Civil Society: Slovak Balkan Public Policy Fund in Northern Kosovo funded by SlovakAid. The first three days of the school are open for all of the CSOs in Northern Kosovo, whereas the final day of the school will be focused on individual consultations with the awarded grantees.

The school was conceptualised by both Slovak and Kosovo experts in policy analysis and advocacy and aims to transfer knowledge and experience onto local organisations from Northern Kosovo. Slovak experts will give the participants a fresh and wider perspective of policy cycle, types of policy documents and good-practice examples from EU and around the world, while Kosovo experts will offer a much-needed insight into how are policy research and analysis conducted in Kosovo, what kind of an impact has it made in the past and how it should be tackled from the perspective of a non-majority community.

The trainers at the school are Andrea Cox, Valeria Mlynarcikova and Pavol Zilincik from Slovakia; and Besa Shahini, Florina Duli and Artan Alijaj from Kosovo.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to support of democratization process in Kosovo through support to the civil society.
