North Kosovo Busnisses at Annual Agricultural Fair in Prishtina

As part of CDF-led consortium of 4 NGOs (Aktiv, KRD and CPT) implementing USAID-funded program Advancing Kosovo Together - Local Solution (AKT-LS), NGO Aktiv facilitated the participation of five businesses from Northern Kosovo municipalities at the annual Agricultural and Agro-industrial Products Fair in Prishtina. The five businesses, that were selected to participate at the Fair by NGO Aktiv, are the beneficiaries of AKT-LS grants scheme implemented in 2015 and 2016.

Aktiv identified and organised participation of 5 agricultural holdings that best represent the agricultural economy in Northern Kosovo. Agricultural and Agro-industrial Products Fair is was held from September 28th – October 1st 2016 at the Fair's Centre in the Shkabaj/Orlović village located along the Prishtina – Mitrovica highway. The Fair is traditionally organized by the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development. It is a regional event that hosts companies from Kosovo and the region. The following businesses from the North participated at the Fair:

-    “Vilamet” farm, Goran Pešić from Leposavić/q
-    “Agro-Milić” farm, Ljubiša Milić from Zubin Potok
-    “Miletić” farm, Bojan Miletić from Zvečan/Zveçan
-    Company “Dejo Med”, Dejan Mihajlović from Zvečan/Zveçan
-    Farm “Gogić”, Goran Gogić from Leposavić/q

This year, for the first time, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce took part in the Fair by bringing along 28 businesses from Serbia to exhibit their products and present them to the Kosovo market.

The exhibition stands of AKT-LS grantees were visited by the Prime Minister of Kosovo and Presidents of both Kosovo and Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Mr Gerxhaliu and Mr Čadež.
