CSO Forum: "Direct Dialogue as a Tool for Regional Stability ”



The second day of the Civil Society Forum: Direct Dialogue as a Tool for Regional Stability" concluded with a panel on young people as actors in the dialogue process. 

Other panel discussions including pathways to reconciliation between Serbs and Albanians and the role of the media in the dialogue process.  

The first day covered topics such as the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue process, economic cooperation as an impetus for dialgoue and cultural diplomacy as an untapped channel for dialogue. 

Taking into consideration the long standing deadlock in the talks between Belgrade and Pristina, the goal of this two-day forum was to offer a space for constructive and multi-layered dialogue between civil society actors on pathways for advanacing relations between Belgrade and Pristina as well as between different communities in Kosovo itself. 

Over the course of this two-day forum, civil society activists, journalists, those working in art and cultural and other experts from accross the region participated in discussions on the dialogue and cooperation that is taking place both between Belgrade and Pristina as well as between communties within Kosovo itself in the fields of social and economic life, and offered up recommendations for further improvements in inter-communal relations. 

The Forum was organized by NGO Aktiv from North Mitrovica in cooperation with partners and with the financial assistance of the Embassy of Switzerland in Kosovo, the European Union Mission to Kosovo, the OSCE Mission, the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS) and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES.)
